How did you choose a name for your Villa?

I have been frequently been asked by guests how we chose the name for our Villa.

Before we had even paid the deposit on our Florida dream villa we were trying to think of a name suitable for it, as it would also be the name used for our Website.

We tried every combination possible - Dream Villa, Sunshine, Tuscan Palms, Orange Tree, Sue's Folly, The Money Pit .... but most of the good names were already taken by owners who had no doubt been through the same process as us!

It was eventually my elderly mother that came up with the answer. We were sitting having coffee one Sunday morning, when in walked our Labrador dog "Max" to see what all the fuss was about. Sue and I were now desperate to find a suitable name for our Villa. We had a copy of the Oxford English dictionary and a map of Florida out on the table to try and provide us with some inspiration. With one swipe of his tail Max sent the coffee flying all over the map and papers we had spread out on the coffee table.

“I know” said Mother “call your Villa Floridamax”. The name sounded good, the website name was available - so we named our Villa after our DOG !!
