Resolving Photo and Image ProblemsBy Last Minute Vacation HomesLoading an image to our site is fairly simple. All you have to do is log into your account and click “Add Villa” or “Submit Article” to load images to new homes/articles. To add images to pre-existing homes/articles, log in and go to the particular home/article and click the “Edit” link. (For articles it is at the top right of the page, for homes it is just below the title of the property.)If you are using a PC Compatible computer running a current version of a JavaScript enabled browser (like Internet Explorer 6 or Firefox 1) then you will be able to see a series of image loading menus below the content area of the home/article edit form. Instructions on picking photos is located here. Remember that your should always use JPG images! Sometimes you may choose your photos and they preview fine—only to find that the image do not load. Everything else may have loaded except the images. There is usually a simple explanation for this—file size. If you are attempting to load images taken directly from a digital camera, the file sizes can easily be more than 1-3 megabytes. Such load on the server (especially when you attempt to load more than one image at a time) can cause the image loading program to choke. We recommend that you resize your images before you submit them to the server. While our server does this for you, it takes up processor time and is better handled at your end. If you have a program like Adobe Photoshop, Corel Photo-Paint or Jasc Paint Shop Pro, you should resample/resize the images to 400 pixels wide at 72dpi (the size our server resamples large images). This will ensure that the images are exactly how you want them and will be within safe limits. If you do not have access to an image-editing program, try loading a single image at a time to your home/article. This will help reduce the load on the server. Since you can edit your home/article documents any time, just add a single photo at a time. You can also delete photos from your home/article or change the cutlines (text below image) by editing them. Learn more about deleting photos or editing their text here. If you are still incapable of loading your images after these steps, please submit a troubleshooter case. -> Search for Troubleshooting articles similar to "Resolving Photo and Image Problems".
