How do I feature my home on the site?

When you list your vacation home on our site, it is automatically placed in a directory where people looking for your region and type of home can easily find you; moreover, our advanced search tools make it simple for anyone looking for a home like yours will easily find it.

Sometimes, however, you might want to showcase your home for visitors who are not really sure what they are looking for. In that case, you may want to feature your home on the site.

You can purchase a feature for your home at any time by logging in with your username and password, going to your vacation home, and clicking the links at the top for purchasing features.

There are two levels of features currently available on the site—directory features and front page features. Both are similar but have different destinations and cost. Note that we limit the number of features in both categories per month, and purchasing features is on a first come, first serve basis. All features are bought for a month. Buying your feature in advance is preferred—there is no discount for buying your feature in a month that is already half-gone.

Note that you cannot buy a feature for months following the expiration of your home. If your home expires on January 15, 2006, the site will not allow you to purchase a feature for months past that date. In this case, if you wanted to purchase a feature for February 2006, you would first have to extend your annual listing… and when that transaction is approved you can then add your feature.

Front Page Feature: The Front Page Feature will place your vacation home on a rotation to be displayed on the home page of the site. No more than twenty (20) homes can purchase a front page feature per a given month. Every time a visitor comes to the front page, 10-13 of any homes featured on the front page will be randomly pulled from the database to be shown on the front page. Up to three homes are shown at the top of the page; up to ten are shown down the left side of the page. This same pool of homes is randomly shown at the top vacation home directory. Up to three current front page homes are also included in every outgoing email that the site sends out.



Directory Pages Feature: The Directory Pages Feature will place your vacation home on a rotation to be displayed on the pages within the vacation home directory (except for the top level) and vacation home search results. No more than ten (10) homes with the same criteria* can purchase a directory pages feature per a given month. Every time a visitor comes to a directory page or vacation home search results, 10-13 of any homes featured on the directory pages will be randomly pulled from the database to be featured. Up to three homes are shown at the top of the page; up to ten are shown down the left side of the page.
