How do I find the Vacation Home perfect for me?By Last Minute Vacation HomesFinding the vacation home perfect for you is simple with our site. We have made several avenues for you to find the home that best suits your vacation needs.A quick guide to searching is to use the quick search feature in the navigation bar of every page. Simply type in your keywords (including country, city, amenities, etc) and click “Search”. (Make sure the “Villas” option is selected in the drop-down next to the search button.) This is a quick-start to your search. It will bring up relevant matches to your search. From there, a very advanced search tool will allow you to fine-tune your search. Narrow your results by limiting results to specific countries, states/provinces, cities, home type, bedrooms and amenities, as well as availability. You can always get to the vacation home directory and advanced home search by clicking the Vacation Homes link in the navigation bar of every page. None of the fields are case-sensitice. The search form is explained here: Search Terms: Search terms create results that are based on the relevance of your words matched against the words used to describe vacation homes in the site. For example, if you enter the words “orlando florida gators” the results will match homes that have “orlando”, “florida” and “gators” in their home details. Note that the keywords only match words that are more than three letters long. Also, you cannot use the “Vacation Dates” (below) fields when using Search Terms. Home: If you select any option other than “Any Home Type”, the results to your search will be limited to homes of the type you select. For example, if you select “Ski Chalet” all results will be of the “Ski Chalet” type. Rooms: If you select any option other than “ANY”, your results will be limited to homes with the number of bedrooms you specify. The list goes from 2-7 bedrooms. Country: If you select a specific country in the Country menu, all results will be from the country you select. Selecting certain countries will automatically change the State menu (below) to a drop-down menu (e.g. selecting “United States”). State: Entering a specific state in the state menu will limit all results to the specific state. Note that the state menu is sometimes a text input and sometimes a menu list. If certain countries are selected (the United States and Canada so far) then the state menu is an option list. The system, by default, prefers using states spelled out rather than abbreviations—esp. in countries where the state-list is a menu list. City: Enter a city to limit results to a specific city. Accommodations: You can limit your results to the types of accommodations available in homes. For example, you can limit results to homes that are pet friendly, handicap accessible and has internet access.Vacation Dates: You can sort your results by homes that have the most days available between the start and end date you listed. In order to use the Vacation Dates option, you must leave the “Search Terms” field blank, and you must enter the complete arrival date and departure date. If you do not leave the “Search Terms” blank, the results will be matched against your search terms and will ignore your vacation dates. If you leave any option in the Vacation Dates empty, the results will ignore the vacation dates and will sort by the next available date in the resulting homes.
